This 2-acre oasis tucked into the mountains of Augusta, WV is less than 2 hours from Washington, DC and only 30 minutes from the shops and restaurants of historic downtown Winchester, VA. We created North Rivers Edge to cater to those who love the idea of time spent in nature with your loved ones, but don’t want the inconveniences or discomforts that would typically deter you from taking a camping trip. Things like old facilities, spider-infested or dirty bathrooms, small campsites with strangers camping at the next site just across from you. Even having to pitch a tent and sleep on the hard ground nestled inside a musty sleeping bag to stay warm on a chilly night, or sweating all night long during a hot, humid summer night! If you’ve camped before, I am guessing I just brought back some not so fond memories of your last camping trip OR have someone reading this with you thinking to themselves “EXACTLY why I wont go camping with you!” Well, we are here to change that! Unlike most campgrounds, access to North Rivers Edge is limited to a single group at a time which means no strangers on property using the facilities or sleeping in tents just feet away from you! When you stay with us, you have exclusive access to the entire 2-acre property to enjoy alone or with your family or friends with access to all four structures including the brand new, ultra-modern bathhouse! Beautifully designed, it features 2 fully heated and cooled bathrooms and glass showers, professionally cleaned before and after each stay.

The 10x20 Victorian style Amenity Barn is a communal space with gorgeous views, comfortable seating, free high-speed WI-FI, a 50” TV, wet bar, games and much more! Our sleeping accommodations are a sight to behold! Just feet from the rivers edge, these 12x18 glass front A-Frames offer unparalleled views of the crystal-clear river and 180 foot sheer rock face that nestles the campsite between the entrance gate and mountain creating exceptional privacy for you and your guests. Fall asleep on a queen size memory foam mattress in the climate-controlled A-frames and wake up to the peaceful serenity of a 12-foot tall, LED lit glass wall as the only thing separating you from the beauty just outside! Relax in our custom river swings and enjoy your morning coffee and the sounds of nature. Be sure to enjoy the outdoor amenities and games! Our custom axe throwing and dart boards, hook and ring game, board games and official size cornhole area are there for you to enjoy! Don’t hesitate to swim in one of the cleanest rivers in West Virginia, go paddle boarding or kayak during the day! In the evening, head into Winchester for dinner or buy organic farm raised fresh meats from the local butcher just 10 minutes down the road and enjoy our outdoor grilling area with brand new Blackstone griddle. With ample seating under a charming pergola dimly lit with hanging edison bulbs, it’ll be the most relaxing and delicious meal you’ve had in years. Sit comfortably at sunset in the 30‘x30’ gravel firepit area and enjoy s’mores by the fire. As it gets dark take advantage of our professional telescope to gaze at the abundant stars with unobstructed views of the night sky!
Special Touches
You’ll also notice that although you’re in nature, the number of mosquitos and flying insects are minimal! That’s because we landscaped intentionally using non-toxic all natural bug repellent grasses, flowers, plants and herbs to limit the bugs! We also lay fresh cedar chips between stays to help keep them away. The goal was to create a well thought out, outdoor experience like no other. North Rivers Edge is still camping…but different! We are redefining your time outdoors and letting you focus on all the things you enjoy by alleviating all the things you don’t love about overnight adventures in nature!
